Second Step Program

At Southeast, we believe that Social-Emotional Learning is a critical part of education. We utilize the Second Step Program as a Social-Emotional Learning curriculum in our Kindergarten through Fifth Grade classrooms. The Second Step program teaches children important skills for getting along with others and doing well in school. It also helps our school be a safe, respectful place where everyone can learn. To further help our school be a safe and respectful place, we also use the Second Step Bullying Prevention Unit. In the lessons, students learn specific skills to help stop bullying through learning how to Recognize, Report, & Refuse bullying. As always, we need the help of our families and other stakeholders to be successful. Get involved in making our school a safe and respectful place by letting the school know if you hear about bullying at school. Remind students to tell a trusted adult at home or school if he or she is being bullied. Also, reinforce the message that it is never okay to bully others. We appreciate the work our staff and families do to help make our school a safe, respectful place where everyone can learn.
